Due to new Level 5 restrictions on numbers at funeral ceremonies, Donnie’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of his family only. There will be an opportunity for the community to support the family and to remember Donnie by being present on the route, socially distanced, on Sunday, January 17th, as his funeral cortege leaves from Quinn’s Funeral Home, Bridge Street, Dundalk to pass his home, proceeding to St. Oliver Plunkett Church, Blackrock for Funeral Mass at 12 noon and afterwards proceeding through the village to St. Fursey’s Cemetery, Haggardstown for burial.
Those wishing to send flowers are asked to place them appropriately throughout the cemetery on their own family graves to make the sacred space a spread of colour, as would have made Donnie smile. You can view a livestream of Donnie’s funeral by following this link: http://vidfuneral.com
To keep everyone safe, please adhere to social distancing, wear face coverings in appropriate circumstances and refrain from handshaking and hugging. You are encouraged to leave a personal message HERE
